Sports update
Well, I skipped right over basketball and now tennis is in full swing. Excuse the pun. Basketball was an amazing experience and while I was not always perfect at keeping my cool, the aforementioned child had an incredible experience. Starting with a coach who saw his talent right off, wondered why it had never been encouraged, and expected him to step up and make things happen. We battled the boy's self confidence all season, but he gradually began to accept his own talents and be fairly consistent in big ways. Including tying up the conference game at the last second with a three point shot. The team went on to win in overtime, which he also helped dramatically with and went on to state. They took second place, where again he had a big game. I am so pleased he was able to overcome and hope it will be a pattern of success for him and his mother for years to come. We were able to tap together a couple of times and I tapped for him dozens of times. Did it contribute to his success? I have no way of knowing, but he is in a more confident place and that makes a mother happy.
