Today is Easter Sunday and it is very meaningful to me this year. A dear friend from college passed away from Huntington's Disease a couple of weeks ago. I was able to drive to Utah and attend his funeral. Terrell was one of those people that was so genuine, so humble, so happy, that it was hard to believe it wasn't fake. But he was real. And his life impacted many. His affliction brought him great physical trial and he was a prisoner of his own body. At his funeral, his wife had us release white balloons sending our thoughts and love heavenward in memory of Terrell. It is hard to see the expression I caught on camera of his sweet wife's face. It is a look of sheer joy. And it captures the essence of the joy that Resurrection morning brings to all of us. I know Shauna was overjoyed that her dear companion of almost twenty years, had been released from his physical condition and that he no longer has those limitations. If there is baseball in heaven, he is surely the captain of a team. And the day will come, when his body is reunited with his spirit and he will be renewed and perfected. What a blessing to know this!

Our lives here upon the earth are so short. And in spite of the trials that we inevitably face, God wants us to have joy, not only after this life, but while we are living it. After the gospel of Jesus Christ and my family, I am so grateful for a tool that helps us to release our negative thoughts and emotions. Just like releasing the balloons into the sky, we can release these burdens and send them heavenward to God. Then we are able to achieve and experience all that God has for us and all that he designed us to be.

I am so grateful to have known Terrell and for the tremendous example of his beautiful wife. When you have the blessing of knowing these kinds of people, it makes life richer and so much more fulfilling. You want to be a better person. I will always remember Terrell Ewing. He was a true hero.

Blessings, Dawn
